Every year during raining season, Bali’s beaches in the southwest are prone to accumulating plastic rubbish as the rains and winds blow each year from west to east.
The influx of tourists as well as the island’s poor waste management system are some of the reasons behind this plastic crisis.

The goal of Indo Compass Team is to raise awareness about plastic pollution and marine plastic pollution, on Nusa Penida Island. We believe that education and awareness at local level is crucial to stop the river of plastic flushing down into the ocean.
Recognizing the emergency of the situation in raining season, Indo Compass team has taken significant steps to fight plastic pollution. On board single-use plastic bottles are over. We organize cleaning days on the snorkeling spots and the most visited areas of Nusa Penida. We also promote waste management initiatives and encouraged sustainable practices in Nusa Penida Island.
Indo Compass Team is dedicated to protecting and keeping our oceans and lands clean around Nusa Penida.
